 INTRODUCTION
Hoag Orthopedic Institute opened its doors in 2010 to meet greater Orange County’s soaring demand for superior quality orthopedic specialty care. California’s most highly regarded orthopedic surgeons partnered with Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Orange County’s leading health system, to form HOI. Along with its hospital in Irvine, CA, the enterprise incorporated two well- respected ambulatory surgery centers – Hoag Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center (HOISC)
in Newport Beach, and Main Street Specialty Surgery Center (MSSSC) in Orange.
HOI Hospital and administrative offices reside in a state of the art, environmentally sustainable
medical facility at 16250 Sand Canyon Ave., conveniently situated between the 5 and 405 freeways in Irvine. HOI hospital has 70 beds in private rooms and nine operating rooms (ORs) equipped specifically for orthopedic surgical procedures. Enterprise-wide, HOI and its two ambulatory surgery centers have a combined total of 18 ORs and two procedure rooms.
HOI has 92 orthopedic surgeons and 221 specialty providers for a total of 313 staff physicians on
its Medical Staff. All HOI physicians must meet rigorous quality practice standards to provide care for patients requiring surgical intervention.
