EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CONTINUED
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
This past year, Hoag Orthopedics and HOI worked together to provide more charity care than
ever before. The organization began receiving grant funding from industry, foundations and grateful patients to further support charitable endeavors. HOI physicians strongly believe in the work being done, and more than half of them are participating in these efforts, either nancially or by contributing their skills. The team also established a relationship with Vital Link, a local non-pro t that works with high school and community college students across the country to give them opportunities to experience different career pathways. A health care exposure program being developed will allow students to complete an internship with a local physical therapy of ce.
Giving Back Through Service
Several physicians served as team physicians for local high school, community college, university sports programs and professional teams. They provide pre-participation physicals, treat athlete injuries and educate athletic trainers. Hoag Orthopedics team physicians and sports teams served include:
