Hip and Knee Replacement Patient Reported Outcomes

Pre and post-surgery, all HOI joint replacement patients are sent a survey to assess their opinions of joint-specific pain and functional abilities.

Spine Patient Reported Outcomes

Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) Score

ODI Mean Score (Lower is better)

The ODI is a validated functional assessment tool which measures a patient’s severity of disability from low back pain. The higher the pre-operative score correlates to the severity of the disability.

Spine Veterans Rand-12 (VR-12)

Mean Mental Component Score* (Higher is better)

The VR-12 is a validated tool used to measure a patient’s quality of life and provides a score on the burden of a specific disease has on both mental and physical health.
