Use of the suture-button arthroplasty addresses both primary and revision cases for patients with recalcitrant thumb basal joint osteoarthritis.
The incorporation of the suture button to surgical practice is just another example in hand surgery where technology and research have provided
a new tool to address a common problem. Emerging technologies continue to make break- throughs in all fields of orthopedics. With careful investigation, these approaches may change how we deliver patient care in the future. It is truly an exciting time to be in practice.
