BACK TO PLAY INFORMS TOMORROW’S HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS
Back by popular demand for its third year, Back to Play was again hosted by Hoag Orthopedics for more than 150 high school students, some of whom will become the next generation of health care professionals. Students learned about medical careers through a mock ankle surgery performed by a volunteer cast of HOI staff members. Following the live-action play, students engaged with staff in a Q&A session.
New this year: an educational display where students could get a closer look at surgical instruments. The presentation is made possible through Hoag Orthopedics’ partnership with the non-profit Vital Link OC, whose mission is to expose high school students to potential careers.
