 TRAVEL MEDICINE BUNDLE PROGRAM
Non-Medicare patients, employers and payers can access world-class orthopedic care through HOI’s Travel Medicine Bundle program. Typically utilized for hip or knee arthroplasty, the program’s bundled rate makes this an affordable, attractive option.
For optimal outcomes, ideal candidates must meet health risk criteria and have a reliable companion to travel with them.
 Pre-Travel
• Patient’s primary care physician/specialist recommends surgery
• Patient’s care information sent to HOI surgeon’s office
• Medical clearances acquired
• HOI Care Coordinator develops personalized care plan through each stage of care

• 38 miles from Ontario International Airport (ONT)
• 46 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Arrival to HOI
• Patient arrives at John Wayne International Airport in Orange County
• HOI Care Coordinator becomes concierge for patient’s needs
• HOI Care Coordinator ensures accommodations and transportation are to patient’s expectations
• Patient follows personalized pre-op instructions prior to surgery
• Surgery occurs in HOI facility
Post Surgery Home
• HOI Care Coordinator evaluates patient discharge, day 1-2
• HOI Care Coordinator reviews post-op care instructions and ensures that there are no complications or issues
• Schedules post-op visit with HOI surgeon
• HOI surgeon and patient discuss patient’s return home
• All other needs are addressed prior to returning home
• HOI Care Coordinator calls patient within 1 week of returning home
• HOI Care Coordinator remedies any of patient’s concerns
• Pre-planned rehab begins
• Pre-planned patient primary or specialist check up
• HOI Care Coordinator speaks to patient on any further questions
