RESEARCH
Over the course of 2015 and 2016, Hoag Orthopedics matured into a comprehensive orthopedic clinical research organization. The anticipation of new and meaningful discoveries that can be translated into improved outcomes for orthopedic patients energized these efforts. Its achievements are realized through its valued partnerships.
A full-time research administrator and two research coordinators were hired to assist physician leadership in ful lling the nonpro t’s mission. Research ranged from translational research (from the lab to bedside) to investigational medical devices and drug development, to outcome data registry and genomic investigation.
Expertise includes consultative services for
all aspects of clinical research, from feasibility assessment and protocol development, to clinical trial management and regulatory compliance. Consultative work has helped develop exciting projects with innovative drug and device sponsors, as well as faculty- and fellow-initiated research projects.
Presently, physicians are conducting close to
30 research studies through Hoag Orthopedics. The following studies highlight how this research is changing the future of orthopedic medicine.
