The above graph depicts the average of the top box responses to OAS CAHPS surveys for patients having an outpatient procedure at MSSSC, OSCOC and
HOI Hospital between July 1 - September 30, 2016.
OAS CAHPS collects information from patients about the care they received in Medicare-certi ed hospital outpatient departments and ambulatory surgery centers. This voluntary national reporting program was implemented in January 2016.
OAS CAHPS data will be publicly reported in 2018, the same year program participation will become mandatory.
HOI and other providers who are proactive in reporting use CMS-approved vendors to conduct the 37-question survey. Participating surgical facilities are required to select a sample large enough to achieve 300 completed surveys.
