SURGICAL CASE VOLUME
In the past two years, from fiscal years (FY) 2011 to 2013, HOI hospital has experienced a 27 percent increase in its volume. HOI accounts for 51 percent of the procedural volume for hip and knee replacements in Orange County. The combined volume for HOI and its two ambulatory surgery centers was 11,447 cases for FY 2013 (see also – Ambulatory Surgery Centers, page 24).
Total hip replacement procedures saw the most growth, from 839 cases in FY 2011 to 1,113 cases in FY 2013. As a high volume provider
of joint replacement procedures – the highest volume in California – HOI offers its patients a proven safety advantage.
